Danbury Hospital
Danbury, CTDanbury Hospital, a 371-bed teaching hospital, sought to enhance its delivery of cancer care for area residents by creating a new 22-bed Inpatient Oncology Unit within the campus. The 11,000 square foot renovation on the eleventh floor of the Tower Building transformed a generic medsurg floor into a contemporary, patient friendly, modernized environment of care. Now an integral part of the Praxair Cancer Center, the Inpatient Oncology Unit serves approximately 360,000 area residents. The new facility helps patients maintain their independence and dignity while receiving all stages of cancer treatment.
